Coorie Saturdays

1st & 3rd Saturday of every month, 10am-4pm

Coorie Saturdays are a blend of lots of different activities at that you can get involved in. From drop in crafting, singing workshops, learning about gardening and food growing, and workshops and classes. There’s free tea, coffee, juice and snacks available all day, free of charge.

Whether you need a space to just ‘be’, somewhere to let the kids run wild, a place to make new friends, or try a new hobby, we’d love to see you.

The following activities are available on Coorie Saturdays, please see the individual activity page for details of dates and times:

  • Gardening for the Future led by Dr. Helena Simmons, this is a great opportunity to meet new people, learn eco-conscious gardening methods and get your hands in the soil.
  • Connecting Voices led by Lara Mcleod is a welcoming and fun free, drop in singing session, suitable for the most novice singers.
  • Studio Saturdays led by Josey Donald is an opportunity for more experienced potters to work on their projects and practice. Contact us if you’d like to join.
  • Edge School led by Rachael Simpson is a new peer-to-peer learning programme for LGBTQIA+ people.
  • The Wee Anti-Racist Library is a new community-run lending library centring books by global majority authors for children and young people.
  • The Solidarity Library, a collection of books and zines that relate to our annual themes, this years theme is ‘Ecologies of Migration’.

All tools and materials are provided for these activities. If you’re joining Gardening for the Future, we encourage all-weather (old) clothes. If you’re coming along to enjoy the libraries, there’s lots of quiet spots where you can get comfy with a brew and a book.

Coorie Saturdays take place outdoors and in. The building is has an accessible, ramped entrance and is level throughout. We welcome people bringing their own food and snacks. Dogs are welcome but they must remain on a lead. There will be a team member available to show you around if it’s you’re first time.
