Harvest with us in the Community Growing Plot!
Saturday 20 September, 10am-4pm
We’re looking for extra hands, alongside donations of surplus fruit and veggies grown and gathered locally, plus any clean jars and bottles that you have around the house.
We’re partnering with the Eden Project this month to support Stobbie Jammin’ Community Harvest, a day rejoicing in the rich harvest season, in Dundee’s Baxter Park on Saturday 27 September. Eden are celebrating the spirit of ‘the backies’ – the Scottish tradition of neighbourly green spaces – over in Stobswell, and we’ll be contributing from our community green space across the river.
Ahead of the Stobbie Jammin’ event, we are looking for donations from the abundance of locally grown and collected food, and clean jars and bottles. You can drop donations off with us up until Saturday 20 September, or join us on the the day to lend a hand in harvesting from the Forgan Community Growing Plot. No gardening experience necessary, just a willingness to get stuck in!
We will then be transporting all of your donations and the surplus from Forgan Arts Centre over to Dundee on our wonderful e-cargo bike.
We will provide tea, coffee, juice, and biscuits to sustain everyone through the day. You do not need a ticket, just come along and drop in for as much or little time as you’re able. Helena and Rhona will be on site to support you to participate and welcome you to the centre.
