Rumpus Room is an artist-led organisation that works in collaboration with children and young people on art, social and environmental action projects in Govanhill, Glasgow. Their overarching aim as an organisation is to develop and deliver programmes of creative play and experimental artistic creation with children and young people which centre their own voices, desires and needs.
To co-create collaborative art that is playful, experimental and supports risk taking, Rumpus Room recognises the importance of building and sustaining interdependent relationships within their communities of interest and place, and actively work to create an equitable culture where all collaborators’ contributions are valued and listened to, regardless of age.
We hosted Rumpus Room in The Gardener’s Cottage in January 2026.
“We use the quieter winter months of our programme to make space out of the studio to reflect on the last year’s work to help us inform the year of programming ahead. We thought it would be useful to come to Forgan Arts Centre this year and be able to start to build connections with Forgan team and ethos as we see lots of crossovers in our work.”
