The Survival Sessions

What do we need in times of transformation?

Our resident artists Webb-Ellis invite you to join a series of relaxed, social, evening gatherings in The Gardener’s Cottage at Forgan Arts Centre.

Each month, get together to share short texts, films, ideas and questions that open up conversations about our entanglements with the more-than-human world, and the stories we need to create liveable futures.

The idea behind the ‘survival sessions’ comes from a sense that community, creativity, conversation and shared imagination are crucial strategies for survival in difficult and transformative times.

We will share snacks, drinks, conversation and solidarity. All curious souls are very welcome and no experience is needed to join us.

Spaces are limited, so please book a free place. Further info about the session will be emailed after booking.

About the artists

Webb-Ellis are British/Canadian artist filmmakers. Using film, dance, music and installation, they create work which aims to offer participants and viewers ways to imaginatively access the political and philosophical, through the lens of the subconscious and the body.

Learn more about Webb-Ellis or visit their website.

Access Information

If you have any food allergies, dietary requirements, access needs or requests, please mention these while booking and we’ll do our best to support you.

The gathering will take place on the ground floor of the cottage, where there is a standard domestic toilet. If you are a wheelchair user or have mobility requirements, please get in touch with Rowan at curator@forganartscentre.co.uk to discuss the access possibilities of the space.

We are happy to offer travel expenses if it makes it possible for you to attend – just email curator@forganartscentre.co.uk to make a request.

After the session closes at 9pm, participants are welcome to stay in the warm for informal conversation, before catching a bus or lift.
