The Relational River

Saturday 17 January, 11am – 3pm

Join resident artists Caitlin and Anj Webb-Ellis, in collaboration with artist Laura Burns, for an experimental workshop exploring our relationships with the River Tay and its ecology.

Through a mix of creative experiments, imaginative participatory filmmaking, and embodied land-based practice, you’re invited to share time together in a supportive environment.

This workshop is free and open to all curious souls. Spaces are limited, so please book a free place. Further info about the session will be emailed after booking.

About the artists

Webb-Ellis are British/Canadian artist filmmakers. Using film, dance, music and installation, they create work which aims to offer participants and viewers ways to imaginatively access the political and philosophical, through the lens of the subconscious and the body. Webb-Ellis are Talking Forests Artists-in-Residence at Forgan Art Centre.

Laura Burns is a queer artist, dancer, family constellations practitioner and facilitator, tending to the re-membrance of embodied knowing, and listening to land and its relations. Laura works across performance, textile, sound, film and writing.

Practical information

Children and young people are welcome to attend the workshop and we will provide alternative outdoor activities for younger children who want a change of scene.

Some of the workshop will take place outdoors, so come dressed for the weather!

Parts of this workshop may be filmed or audio recorded by the artists.

A light lunch and hot drinks will be provided: let us know of any dietary requirements when you book.

The textile room at Forgan Arts Centre has level access and there is a wheelchair accessible toilet on the same floor. We will plot a route for outdoors which takes into account participants’ mobility. Please let us know when booking of any access needs or requests which would make the workshop more accessible to you.
