About the class
In this course you will be learning the process and techniques of creating stained glass using the Tiffany style copper foil and glass mosaic methods. Beginners will receive full instruction and demonstrations, with help and advice as required to make your own glass masterpiece. Improvers and those with more experience will be encouraged to further their skills, experiment, and to try more ambitious or complex projects.
What to bring
The tutor, Margaret, will provide you with a choice of templates to work from and she will be on hand to guide and advise as needed. Basic materials and sundries are available to purchase ffor a nominal cost to get you started, and from there you will be advised where to purchase glass for your ongoing projects. Bring along any materials for inspiration such as photographs, images of stained glass you like, or objects. A sketchbook and pencils are useful for sketching out your ideas or making notes.
About the tutor
Margaret Stewart is a practising stained glass artist. She has been teaching stained glass for 20 years in various educational settings. Margaret has been working with glass for decades. She is knowledgeable about both lead came and foil construction also known as Tiffany. Margaret regularly exhibits as part of the North Fife Open Studios.
