Wednesdays, 5.45-6.45pm
Family Pottery is a class for adults and children together. Have fun as a family being creative together using hand building techniques or trying out throwing on a wheel. This class is suitable for children age 5 years+ and their adult! Children 10 years+ can attend without an adult.
Please note that children aged between 5-10 years must be accompanied by an adult. All attendees adults and children require a ticket please include your child’s name in the booking. You will be asked to complete a emergency contact form on your first session.
Ticketing Information
- Adult tickets are £8.50 per session bought in a term block (£51)
- Child 1 ticket is £8 a session bought in a term block (£48)
- Child 2 includes a sibling discount and is £7 a session bought in a term block (£42)
If you are an adult attendee, not be making your own work and just assisting you child attendee, please book a child ticket and email programme@forganartscentre.co.uk to let us know
What to bring
You don’t need to bring anything. However, if there’s pictures or objects you might take inspiration from, bring them along. You might also want to bring paper and pencils to sketch out designs, though we can also provide these. Clay is available to buy at the Centre, or you can use our recycled clay to practice with.
About the Tutor
Your tutor for this class is ceramicist and master craftsperson Heather Gilbert. Heather studied Fine Art before pursuing her practice in ceramics, working to set up Collective studios for artists, exhibiting her work widely, and teaching. Enthusiastic about alternative glazing and firing methods, Heather leads raku workshops and is always open to helping you experiment and innovate with new ways of working.
Heather teaches another Family Pottery class on Thursdays at 5.45-6.45pm.
