Saturday 13 June, 10am-12pm & 1pm-3pm
Learning to throw pottery on a potters wheel can be fun and messy! This workshop invites children to have a go and learn basics of throwing on the potter’s wheel. A good opportunity for you to try pottery without pressure and with other children in a relaxed atmosphere.
Join us for a morning or afternoon session, this workshop is for children aged 10-16 years old. Any work made will be fired after the class and be available to pick up at a later date. Please book a place for each young person. Students must be aged 10 to 16 years old and accompanied by an adult and each Session lasts two hours and you can book either the morning or afternoon.
What to Bring
All materials are provided. Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Clay will wash off fine, but can get messy on the day! Please remember to bring a packed lunch. Tea and coffee is available at the centre.
About the Tutor
Joseph Donald is a Dundee based artist, musician, and maker. With a helping of humour and absurdity he investigates the work/play relationships inherent in creative practices – allowing for great swathes of investment in professionally justified silliness. Through painting, sound and forays into fine joinery, he uses found/waste materials to create objects where play meets function, and being meets belonging.
