Week One: Mon 13 – Mon 16 October 2025
A creative week with artist Josie Jones inspired by local traditions and folklore.
With sessions focusing on printmaking, sculpture, cyanotype, and mixed-media craft with a focus on seasonal exploration, creating a journey of tactile wonder. This week’s Children’s Art Club theme is seasonal exploration, imagination, and sensory play, connecting children with the natural world and local cultural traditions.
Inspired by Fife and local traditions, activities will include apple Gelli printing, creatures of the forest map making, dressed herring sculpture, and cyanotype print soups using natural dyes. Children will experiment with textures, colours, and natural forms, building a deeper connection to the season and their environment.
Monday: Apple Picking Holiday
Children will carve apples for Gelli printing.
Tuesday: Fae Folk Foraging
Into the garden to create fairy offerings (Fae Folk Foraging).
Wednesday: Dressed Herring
Collage large-scale herring sculpture.
Thursday: Autumnal Cyanotypes
Make cyanotype print soups with plant-based seasonal dyes.
By experimenting with textures, colours, patterns, and natural forms of their surroundings, enriching their connection to this time of year and their homes.
The activities are flexible for indoor or outdoor settings.

Week Two: Monday 20-Monday 23 October 2025
Garden of Imagination: Artist-Inspired Workshops for Creative Kids
Where nature meets art, and famous artists come to play! Join us for a magical four-day journey through the world of art, nature, and imagination. Each day, children will step into the shoes of a legendary artist—reimagining an reinterpreting their work through playful, hands-on activities using materials from both the garden and the studio.
Over four fun-filled days, children will explore the playful spirit of famous artists—Andy Warhol, Niki de Saint Phalle, Paul Klee, and Agnes Martin—through hands-on activities that blend painting, sculpture, building, weaving, and more. Using natural and recycled materials from the garden and beyond, kids will create colourful prints, joyful clay mosaics, imaginative landscapes, and abstract woven collages.
Monday: If Andy Warhol Were a Gardener
Art Forms: Mono-printing & Natural Collage. Kids will create bold prints and quirky portraits using painted leaves, sticks, and stones.
Tuesday: If Niki de Saint Phalle Were a Potter
Art Forms: Clay, Mosaic & Pebble Painting. Inspired by Niki’s vibrant sculptures, children will make playful clay shapes and decorate them with painted pebbles and mosaic pieces.
Wednesday: If Paul Klee Were a Builder
Art Forms: Construction & Recycled Art. Using recyclable materials, kids will design imaginative buildings and dreamy landscapes based on Paul Klee’s abstract style.
Thursday: If Agnes Martin Were a Weaver
Art Forms: Weaving & Textural Collage. Children will explore calm, rhythmic making through weaving and collage using yarn, paper, feathers, and found materials.
Perfect for children of various ages and abilities. All activities are adaptable, with steps that can be added or simplified based on each child’s needs.
