An Arts Centre as a Garden: Future Plans & Annual General Meeting

An open invitation to join us to learn about the future of Forgan Arts Centre and to participate in our Annual General Meeting.

Agenda

The event will include the following presentations and activities:

  • A presentation from Director, Jennifer White, about ‘what’s next’ for Forgan Arts Centre.  Including details of our new business plan for 2025-2028, as well as our new guiding concept, the practice of social permaculture.
  • An update on the upcoming capital project, designed by Nicoll Russell Studios, to regenerate the estate and create a more accessible and sustainable art centre for the people of Fife and beyond.
  • Review of the community consultation led by our partners, tialt (there is an alternative), as well as lead an activity to collect new thoughts, ideas, and concerns.
  • Tours of the Gardener’s Cottage, our ongoing renovation project, which has been restored by local people.

The event will culminate in our Annual General Meeting (AGM), led by Co-Chairs of the Board, Kate Smith and Judith Winter. This event is open to anyone, whether you’re a member or not. However only Ordinary Members will be able to vote on any issues during the AGM.

Membership

Forgan Arts Centre is constituted as a membership organisation. Anyone aged over 15 years can be a member for free, there is no cost to membership. Members have the power to influence and shape the future of Forgan Arts Centre and we rely on them to share their ideas and concerns with us. Members are eligible to be Trustees. We value our existing membership and hope to grow and diversify it. If you would like to be a member, please contact us. We have three categories of member:

  1. Ordinary Member: resides within the Tay Bridgehead Ward and is over the age of 16 years. This type of member has voting rights.
  2. Associate Member: resides outwith the Tay Bridgehead Ward and is over the age of 16 years.
  3. Junior Member: is between the age of 12-15 years.

Only Ordinary Members are able to vote and will be issued a voting token upon arrival. All members can contribute to the discussion and their ideas, concerns and feedback will be listened to.

Access

Children are welcome. There will be some creative activities set up for children in one of the classrooms which will be monitored by two play workers. Children are also welcome to join the meeting and conversations, their feedback is valuable.

Refreshments are provided including tea, coffee, and scones with jam and cream.
