Porcelain Jewellery Workshop: Storytelling in Clay

Saturday 28 & Sunday 29 March, 10am-4pm

Join visual artist and jewellery maker Beth Wham for a reflective two-day workshop exploring storytelling through the delicate medium of porcelain.

As spring begins to awaken the landscape, we’ll draw inspiration from the natural world and from ancient objects that carry traces of ancient stories across time. Through sketching, journaling, and clay work, you’ll learn to create meaningful, wearable art that reflects your own narratives.

Day one will focus on exploration – finding patterns and textures from nature, sketching ideas, and experimenting with porcelain to bring personal symbols and stories to life.

On day two, you’ll start working with your fired pieces, forming it into a final piece of jewellery. Shaping it in a way that resonates to you. By the end of the weekend, each participant will have crafted their own unique jewellery that captures their own story.

What to bring
All materials will be provided, but please bring a notebook or journal, and any small natural or perhaps symbolic objects you’d like to draw inspiration from (these will also be provided so no pressure if you do not have a specific symbol in mind). Wear comfortable clothes suitable for a day of making.
