Felting

Thursdays, 1pm-4pm

About the class

In this course you will learn the ancient art of wet felting, including ‘nuno felting’, flat and 3D felting. Each week your tutor Trish will take you through a step by step process to create a unique felted piece from start to finish. At the end of the five weeks you will have a collection of original felted pieces and the knowledge to work to your own initiative.

This course is designed for those wishing to learn a new craft or for those wishing to improve their felting skills and further their artistic practice.

What to bring

All materials are included, but participants will be required to bring an old towel each week to work their felt on. You may also want to bring pictures or objects that inspire your work.

About the tutor

Trish O’Meara of Wormit Woolies is a local fibre artist. Working mainly with sheep fleece, Trish sources her materials sustainably and shares her knowledge on all things felt. Trish also offers weekend workshops on individual projects.
