Forgan Arts Centre, located in Newport-on-Tay in North East Fife, is a home for contemporary and traditional arts and crafts and community events. Year round we offer artist and craftsperson led workshops and classes across a broad range of arts and crafts activities, which change from term to term, suitable for beginners, improvers, and those further developing their artistic practice. Throughout the year we work closely with local people to design a programme of events and activities from festival days to community meals, suitable for people of all ages and free to attend Forgan Arts Centre comprises three buildings, the main centre, The Gardener’s Cottage and the Kiln House, all set within three acres of land. The main building is home to multipurpose classrooms and six artist studios which are suitable for individual artists across discipline, collectives, social enterprises, and charities. Our extensive grounds include mature woodland, curated gardens, purposeful wilderness, allotments, and shared community growing space.rnrnWe are committed to offering quality arts and crafts classes and workshops including pottery and ceramics, textiles, glass, and painting and drawing to name but a few. In addition there are one off workshops and masterclasses that allow you to delve deeper into a skill or technique or try something new without committing to a whole term. Our community events programme runs seasonally and is designed by and with local people and centre users. The gardens and grounds are free to roam all year-round. Across the Spring and Summer months, there is a programme of grow-your-own and gardening activities people of any age or ability can participate in. We are especially interested in permaculture and gardening and growing practices that relate to soil health and climate change.
